Introduction: I'm Keilan Banks, a 28-year-old who's triumphed over financial adversity. Graduated with a degree in Cyber Security in 2018 with student loans. Ultimately, I transitioned from hardship to becoming a homeowner with my wife between 2019 and 2023. Thanks to insights from Dave Ramsey's teachings, I've identified a critical issue plaguing the poor/middle class: DEBT!!!
Financial Setbacks: My journey led to accumulating $40,000 in credit card debt & $25,000 in student loans while in college. With staggering interest rates of 20-30% APY. Moreover, I learned from personal experience that "get rich quick" schemes are rarely successful. While there may be occasional extraordinary successes, like the Gamestop stock surge, in reality, the safest path to wealth is gradual and consistent growth.
Reality: The rising cost of living, exacerbated by increasing minimum wages, has created unprecedented financial challenges.
Navigating Financial Obstacles: Identifying the root cause of these financial difficulties was a significant step, but overcoming debt and financial obstacles was far from straightforward.
